Magic Kingdom

Where Fairytales Begin …

But even in this storybook land where dreams take shape, new enchantments must sometimes be crafted! Here’s a glimpse into the current magic going on behind the scenes:

1. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad

The Frontierland roller-coaster, is undergoing a full β€œrestoration spell” from January 6, 2025, through some time in 2026. New track, refreshed ride vehicles, and even a dash of fresh magic await its grand return.

2. Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin

In Tomorrowland, Buzz’s mission is being upgraded with dazzling new ride vehicles, glowing blasters, interactive targets, animatronics, and an all-new opening scene starring a helpful robot friend. Closed since August 4, 2025, it’s set to reopen in 2026.

3. Liberty Square Riverboat

This graceful steam voyage has taken its final sail on July 7, 2025, as the Rivers of America make way for the adventurous new Piston Peak expansion inspired by Cars.

4. Tom Sawyer Island

The rustic retreat where imaginations ran wild has closed its gates on July 7, 2025, making room for more modern thrills in Frontierland.

5. Walt Disney World Railroad (Shuttle Service)

The steam train now runs in β€œshuttle mode,” whisking guests only between Main Street and Fantasyland, as Frontierland’s station readies itself for the new expansions.

Epcot

A world of wonder

✨ A Pause in Time at EPCOT ✨

The grand journey through the history of communication inside Spaceship Earth is taking a little break for refurbishment as of August 25, 2025. While the story of humankind’s progress is on pause, Disney assures us the attraction will return later this year, refreshed and ready to inspire once more.

Until then, let your EPCOT adventure lead you to other wondersβ€”because the magic never stops, it just shifts to a new chapter. πŸŒπŸ’«

Hollywood Studios

Adventure in action

🎬 Curtain Call at Hollywood Studios

The magic of Hollywood Studios is always evolvingβ€”and with that comes a few fond farewells as Disney makes way for brand-new stories. Here’s a look at what’s closing (and what has already taken its final bow):

⛔️ Recent & Upcoming Closures

  • Muppet*Vision 3D
Closed June 7, 2025. This classic 3D show has taken its final curtain call to make way for the new Monsters, Inc.-themed land.
  • Disney Jr’s Play & Dance!
Closing September 25, 2025. Until then, families can still enjoy one last dance party with favorite Disney Junior pals.
  • Star Wars: Launch Bay
Closing September 25, 2025. The space will be reimagined as part of a larger transformation of Animation Courtyard.
  • Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy

  • Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith

🌟 What’s Next

While we say goodbye to some longtime favorites, the future is bright at Hollywood Studios:

  • The Walt Disney Studios reimagining will bring interactive animation fun in 2026.
  • A brand-new Disney Villains stage show will take over the former Racing Academy theater.
  • And of course, the Muppets are set to steal the spotlight with their own high-energy roller coaster.
